On August 27th, Xia Qing, former Vice President and Chief Engineer of China Academy of Environmental Sciences (CAES) and his entourage visited AWS headquarter and attended the technical exchange meeting on sewage sludge treatment, which was chaired by Li Bin, Chairman of AWS, and attended by Luo Jun, Director of Sales, Lai Xinrong, Manager of Process Design Department, Pang Yixiong of Research and Development Department, and Jia Xiaozhao of Marketing Department.

President Xia mentioned that the main purpose of this exchange is to integrate the excellent water treatment processes in China, give full play to the scientific and technological research capabilities of ACE, accelerate the promotion of quality and efficiency of wastewater, and practically solve the practical problems of various local governments and people. President Xia has served as the person in charge of national scientific and technological research projects and topics for seven times, leading the research team to open up new fields of environmental protection.

During the exchange meeting, Mr. Li Bin introduced to President Xia and his team the concept of mud-water co-management process proposed by AWS for the pain points of owners in the field of wastewater and sludge, as well as the supporting sludge two-stage method, side-stream deep nitrogen removal technology (M3B), floating bed catalytic advanced oxidation technology (N3C) and other advanced process technologies. President Xia's team firstly expressed great recognition of the mud-water co-management process and gave pertinent and professional suggestions, and indicated that both teams could cooperate to carry out experiments to study the feasibility and effect mechanism of the MBBR process of ACE and the M3B process of AWS on the quality and quantity enhancement of sewage plant projects.

After the meeting, President Xia's team went to Panyu Integrated Central Domestic Sewage Purification Project to visit. The project has built an efficient and perfect operation and maintenance management mechanism, responded to customer needs and continued to operate stably since the completion of its design and construction by AWS in 2019.

Next, AWS will work closely with the Institute of Water Ecology and Environment of the China Academy of Environmental Sciences, complementing each other's strengths, to carry out research on how to further increase the capacity of sewage sludge treatment, realize the quality and efficiency of pollution reduction and carbon reduction, and enhance the competitiveness of process products.
