On August 26, AWS held a kick-off meeting and innovative technology training session at the new site of the Technology R&D and Communication Center. The meeting was hosted by the general manager of AWS, and more than 30 people participated in the meeting, including relevant managers of AWS and specialists in technology research and development.
At the meeting, AWS general manager introduced the many functions carried by the technology R&D and exchange center and the significance of the upgrading work. In addition to focusing on building the technology R&D lab, the new space of the exchange center was upgraded to create a new ecology for academic exchanges and technological innovation incubation.

Faced with the change of times and the danger of survival of environmental protection enterprises in the post epidemic era, AWS innovatively put forward the Biochar Solution for Mud and Water Co-construction in the homogenized competition predicament. The solution includes BIOCHAROLYSIS biochar cracking process, M3B sidestream deep denitrification process, ADF autotrophic denitrification limit denitrification process and N3C fluidized bed advanced oxidation process.


BIOCHAROLYSIS
Biocharolysis includes “mechanical dewatering section”, “pyrolysis and carbonization section” and “tail gas treatment section”, with the water content of the incoming sludge at 80~98% and the water content of the outgoing sludge at ≤1%. For all kinds of solid wastes including municipal sewage treatment plant sludge, food waste, tree branches and weeds, rice husk and straw, and general industrial sludge, it utilizes the anoxic high temperature environment to promote the pyrolysis and carbonization reaction of sludge and other solid wastes, which is safe, clean, energy-saving, and carbon-fixing, and greatly reduces the level of carbon emission, and the investment cost, operation cost, and floor space are all superior to that of other sludge treatment and disposal processes.

The core of the lateral flow deep nitrogen removal process is to modify the sludge product of sludge biochar cracking process into a powder carrier that can be efficiently loaded with microorganisms, and add it to the biochemical system of the sewage plant to form a “double sludge age” biochemical system combining the activated sludge and biofilm methods, and improve the biochemical efficiency of the whole biochemical system by means of the micron-sized pore of the carbon-rich magnetic biochar, the flow system, simulation system, precise aeration system, and magnetic recovery system. With the help of carbon rich magnetic biochar with micron-sized pores, flow field system, simulation system, precise aeration system and magnetic recovery system, the biochemical efficiency of the whole biochemical system is improved.
M3B is applicable to A2O/CASS/SBR processes, and under the premise of no shutdown, no additional land occupation and low energy consumption, it can increase the treated water volume to 1.5 to 2 times of the original water volume, and the effluent can reach Class A or quasi Class IV (combined with the process of denitrification of the limit of denitrification of autotrophic, the effluent can reach the quality of four types of water on the surface), and the investment cost and operation cost are better than the traditional process.

ADF
Autotrophic denitrification limit denitrification process is through the cultivation of adapted special denitrifying denitrifying bacteria (represented by Thiobacillus denitrificans), together with the microbial carrier immobilization technology, in the anaerobic or anoxic environment alone to provide the electron donor, will be the electron acceptor of the nitrate or nitrite reduction into nitrogen gas.
